I promise that I won’t bombard everyone with constant promo posts, but I did want to let my readers know that I’ve started my own virtual assisting business. I’m going to focus on authors, but I’ll certainly take on clients who aren’t authors as well.
A little history – I’ve been an administrative assistant for fifteen years, and as the years have gone on, I’ve become more and more dissatisfied with the job. Not the assisting part; I really like that, but I haven’t been passionate about the industries I’ve worked in, and as a result, every day has been harder and harder to get out of bed and drive to the office. So I’ve decided to take my love of books and authors and my skills as an assistant and combine them.
To that end, here’s a list of author services I’m currently offering:
- Beta Reading
- Research
- Social Media Management
- Travel Arrangements
- Basic Office Management
- Book Promotion
- Promote and maintain Facebook page
- Take care of ARC mailings
- Organize and oversee giveaways
- Ghost Write social media posts, blog posts, etc.
- Proofreading
- Newsletter Management
- Sending out and tracking review copies
- Securing ISBN numbers
And some of the more general office skills:
- General Office Management
- Email Management
- Client Communication
- Travel Arrangement
- Calendar Organization
- Data Entry
- Internet Research
- Document Creation
That’s what I’m offering right now, but I love learning new things and I’m going to be adding to both of those lists. That’s one of the things I was becoming dissatisfied with; there wasn’t really any need to learn new skills because the industry I currently work in (construction) is notoriously behind the times and unwilling to try anything new. Right now, I’m working on learning some coding and some light graphic design, and I can’t wait to be able to offer some of those services as well.
So, check out my website: Scribe Mate and let me know if there’s anything I can help you with. If there’s not, feel free to pass the info to anyone you think might need help I can provide, authors or non-authors.
Thanks for reading!
