Review – Ruin & Rule by Pepper Winters
I guess I’m a little confused by this book and all the love it receives. I mean, are we really supposed to root for this couple? – Smut Matters

There’s a lot of love out there for this series, and I liked the first one enough to move on with it, but I hope it’s a little better than this one. I liked Jet, I’m glad he got what he wanted, Ayden had a lot of growing up to do before she settled in. – Smut Matters
Overall, I really liked this trilogy. I hadn’t read anything by Meghan March before, but I’ll keep an eye out for her stuff from now on.
There wasn’t a ton of angst, just two people who are finding their way to each other. I liked the town Trentham has created here, and the secondary characters. I was sufficiently charmed to put the first two books on hold at my library so I can read those, too. – Smut Matters
It was like watching a montage of Lucy pulling the football from Charlie Brown. Violet would stand up for herself and tell him off, causing me to do a fist pump in my seat, only to immediately give in and go back to him. – Smut Matters
This was a great start to the series. Even though I didn’t love Ethan, I really liked most of the other family members and KGI operatives we met, and I’m looking forward to their stories. I’m just sorry I waited so long to start this one. – Smut Matters
I really like these two, both individually and together, and I’m really excited to see how they manage to work this out. – Smut Matters
All in all, I thought this was just an ok entry into the series. I liked JL and Enzo, but I wanted a little more from them. They were just a typical uptight rich man who’s set in his ways and crazy, life-embracing woman who shows him what he’s been missing. – Smut Matters
I know this sounds like I didn’t like the book. I didn’t dislike it, I was just a bit underwhelmed by it. – Smut Matters
Overall, this was a great entry in Lemmon’s Evergreen Cove series. Even thought Faith drove me nuts at times, I was glad to see Connor get the happily ever after he wanted. – Smut Matters
