Review – The Play by Karina Halle
There’s a lot to love in this book. Lachlan, Kayla, rugby, family, friendship, dogs. Yes, there are dogs. There are so many dogs. – Smut Matters

Samantha really surprised me. She dug in her heels and did her best to learn everything she could. She’s not a perfect waitress, obviously, but she tries and mostly succeeds. Even though she’s grown up in a completely different world than everyone at Kincaid’s, she treats everyone with respect and genuine affection. – Smut Matters
Something about the dynamic between Polly and Austin just seemed off to me. – Smut Matters
I really loved Amy and Dax. In fact, when I went back to it to check a few facts for this review, I found myself rereading the whole thing. – Smut Matters
A Fighting Chance is a charming, short second-chance romance. Second-chance romance is one of my favorite tropes, and Shannon Stacey is one of my favorite contemporary authors, so this was an automatic buy for me. – Smut Matters
I hated this guy so much that I can’t even tell you much about the rest of the characters. The fact that everyone else in this book sees how he acts and says and does nothing about it makes me want to throw up. – Smut Matters
This was a fun series overall, but this book wasn’t my favorite of the series. – Smut Matters
I found myself a little… underwhelmed, I guess. There’s a lot of good sex here, but not a lot of story. – Smut Matters
I don’t really put gifs into my reviews, but if I did, I’d open this review with a gif of me throwing money out my window directly at Alisha Rai’s feet. – Smut Matters
There was so much to love here. – Smut Matters
